Employee Charged With Nursing Home Abuse in Philadelphia

A nursing home employee has been charged with neglect of a care dependent person and simple assault and released on unsecured bail in Philadelphia.

36-year-old Baindu Kromah from Philadelphia was caught on camera assaulting a 90-year-old patient at the Arden Courts care facility where she worked.

Kromah was fired from her role once the video footage was turned into police by the victim’s family. They had installed a secret video camera in the elderly lady’s room after she had been mistreated by another facility.

Several incidents were filmed and handed over to police officials showing the woman crying out for help.

Sources show that one in three nursing homes across the US have been cited in some form of abuse or neglect scandal. Sadly across the nation nursing home abuse is rife and many elderly residents find themselves vulnerable against those who should be protecting them.
