Elderly Man Allegedly Died of Nursing Home Neglect and Bedsores in Wrongful Death Case

A nursing home in the city of Lima in Ohio has been cited as being negligent in a wrongful death lawsuit filed in Allen County Common Pleas Court.

The Baton Rouge Medical and Rehab Center of Lima, where elderly man Wayne Brewington was a patient in 2010, has been named along with 25 of its employees for providing inadequate care resulting in Brewington’s death on September 1st 2010.

Clavon Mees filed the wrongful death nursing home neglect lawsuit on behalf of Brewington’s estate and is seeking more that $25,000 in damages. Mees alleges that the facility failed to prevent bedsores, failed to recognize and properly treat an infection and failed to work to an individual care plan in place to look after Brewington when he was a patient at the home. Mees also alleges that the facility are to blame for failing to hire, train and supervise proper staff members.
