Hospital Keeps Woman Stable Following Alleged Elder Abuse

Aug 05, 2014

A 74-year-old woman who was brought to a Virginia hospital covered in bedsores and in a dirty adult diaper is now in a stable condition as search warrants investigate a possible elder abuse case.

The woman from Bedford County, Virginia was first taken to Bedford Memorial Hospital for treatment on two wounds which appeared to be burn marks. Once at the hospital staff members found an unstageable bug-infested bedsore on her body.

They also realized that the woman was wearing a diaper filled with human waste and even more disturbingly, blood. The woman was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital as a police warrant uncovered information showing that the woman had been staying with relatives.
