Two Male Nursing Home Nurses Accused of Elder Abuse Against Female Resident in San Diego

Aug 20, 2014

Two male nurses have been accused of elder abuse after being arrested for fondling each other while caring for a 99-year-old stroke victim at a facility in Mira Mesa, a San Diego California neighborhood.

Russel Torralba and Alfredo V. Ruiz were caught on camera engaging in sexual activities together on multiple occasions throughout 2011 while in the victim’s room.

If found guilty of causing mental suffering on an elder and elder abuse they could face up to six years in prison.

Nursing home abuse can come in many forms. Any mental, physical or emotional abuse against an elderly person can cause serious and lasting damage to a resident’s well being. In nursing homes across the country countless nurses and caregivers are negligent in their care of the elderly.
