Sep 04, 2014

A 24-year-old woman has been fired from her role and charged with elder abuse and neglect after two nursing home residents told deputies that she abandoned them.

Andria Martice Lawson was employed at Sumter Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in South Carolina when deputies were called after a 70-year-old woman and a 71-year-old man alleged that they were abused by the woman.

The vulnerable female nursing home resident claimed that Lawson jerked her gown from her and hit her in the chest. The male resident alleges that he was abandoned and left in a wheelchair, naked from the waist down. Lawson has been charged with one count of abuse and one count of neglect of a vulnerable adult.
